Wow thank you Portland!

What can I say Portland was outstanding last night! Wheelz and I drove down together, and we both noted how great it was to play in a big warehouse! I have to say the sound was phenomenal, and the crowd went off! It was wonderful to see so many people getting down to some hard beats! Thanks to Jelly Bean for bringing me down, and every person who let loose and danced! Video should be posted up in a week or so…

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming…

Well, my intention to update this on a regular basis has failed so far, but I’m hoping that I can kick that lax attitude and get you more updates on here! In my personal life the last couple months have been pretty busy, with gigs most weekends and a big move at the end of March. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing, but a good place opened up right when I was starting to think of moving and I jumped on it. The upside: WAY more space, and a real kitchen, plus a small room to move the studio into. The downside: setting up the studio again on top of getting moved in. This led to about 4 weeks of no studio time!

Needless to say this has been frustrating, but I have been fortunate enough to have had a solid run of shows here at home. One of the highlights was once again getting the opportunity to perform at Sakura-con, one of the best Anime conventions in the country. It’s always wonderful to get to be a part of it, not only the shows, but I get to help judge cosplay contests, get behind the scenes access to exhibits and have a great time just people watching.

This year we were lucky to have Saiyan, Virus, and Dynamic out from the eastern US, and Sharpenal Sound from Japan! All put on great performances, and did well to represent hard dance! Here’s some video of my Live PA as shot by Saiyan. One features the amazing vocalist Umi performing our debut track  “Cross the Stars”

Phoenix I love you!

So this weekend was simply amazing! By a stroke of luck myself, Doughboy, and Tom Swift were all booked for the same party in Phoenix AZ this weekend. For those that don’t know them, Doughboy is another outstanding hardcore DJ and Tom Swift spins some wicked Garage, both from my hometown of Seattle.

The party was called “Rainbow Brite & the Kandy Kids 2″, and there was no denying that the kandy wearing party goers were out in full force! We got to the venue around 7, since the party started at 6 (!) and we wanted to catch our good friends Sparrow and Maromi drop some classic hardcore. The stage was big and so was the sound!

The crowd was quite mental, and it was a joy to get to play for such an enthusiastic audience. Lots of screaming, whistles and hands in the air vibe.

Id like to thanks everyone who helped make this a wonderful trip, especially to the Sparrows and Clix for their hospitality, and to SuPeR K! for keeping me smiling the whole time. I should have some photos and video up soon, until then Phoenix I love ya and I can’t wait to return!

New Years and more in 2010

Well here I am in the office (my day job) on my last day before the New Years break. Quite a bit on my mind at the moment, what do I play, when do I drop that new track? I got a few requests from folks for certain tunes, so I gotta work those in as well. Going to spend some time with new tracks tonight, figure out where they will fit in a set.

I’m honored to get to play the midnight slot this NYE, there is no better way to celebrate a new year than with some hands up hardcore! Well looks like time to get back to work here, counting down to the countdown!

Welcome to the new site!

Well it’s been a long time since I’ve had an actual website, but here I am, going at it again. My hope is for this site to be a place where I can share news and updates about shows and releases while at the same time sharing some of the madness that makes up my life.

Lately things have been moving forward at an epic pace! Shows have been packed and releases have been doing quite well. The last three releases I was involved in were featured on TrackItDown.net and have even gained support from Radio 1’s Kutski!

I’ve had some time off from gigs and production as my studio machine was down for maintenance, however good news is on the horizon and the LAB should be up and running at full swing just in time for the busy months ahead.

This New Years Eve will be an incredible night in Seattle at Enchanted Eve, where I’ll be playing an all anthem set, full of crowd pleasing sing-alongs and hands up riffs. I can’t party too hard because the very next night is Fate, a cheap $5-10 party that is something of a New Years afterpaty. I’ll be dropping a much harder, aggressive set with more experimental stompy tunes, although knowing me a vocal or two may still sneak in.

Just one short week later I’ll be performing a 2×4 with Seattle’s first lady of hardcore, Jimni Cricket at Wake ‘n Bake, followed by a weekend in my favorite city Phoenix, AZ for Rainbow Bright and the Kandykids 2 (what a name!). Myself, Doughboy, and Tom Swift will be headed down from Seattle, to meet SuPeR K! and Special D in rocking some dancefloors.

2009, was an incredible year, and 2010 is shaping up to be just as intense. Thank you to everyone who supports this scene, from the promoters, sound engineers, dancers, vendors, all of you make this part of my life incredible. So let’s see how well I keep this updated, and hopefully I’ll be seeing you at a party sometime soon!
